Hello and Welcome!
My name is Aimee and I am your average middle of the pack runner. Actually, more towards the back. I might not be last, but I am definitely not first. I have been running since junior high not always consistently, but always coming back for more. Definition of a love/hate relationship for sure. So, here I am once again coming back to running after having my fourth (FINAL) baby. This time, I want to share my experience mostly for myself. Maybe it will also help another average runner girl who feels alone.
So, let’s be best running friends.
Some fun facts about me is I am a mom of four wild kids. Ages range from seventeen to four months. (Took a breather between the first two and the last two.) I have a very amazing supportive husband. We are going on seven awesome years together. We have a sweet rescuer puppy named Cash (as in Johnny Cash-not cash money. Though we did give him the middle name money.) I am a nurse practitioner. I have been in nursing since 2012. First, as a registered nurse, and then in 2020 I graduated with my doctorate in nursing science. My specialty is in Adult-gerontology acute care, and I currently work as a hospitalist. I enjoy other hobbies such as reading, writing, and knitting. Though, paying money to run in marathons is mostly likely the top hobby not really sure why.
Next year I am running the Chicago marathon as a St. Jude Hero. (Love this foundation.) I want to highlight the realities of training for a marathon. All the while being a full-time working mother. I won’t make every run. Some days I will just be surviving, but that is life. It’s life definitely when you have kids and a career. I will question my sanity ALOT. There will be a moment that I will ask myself and maybe my readers “Why am I doing this again?” Though I know how great the end result is. If I can just hang in there.
I am so glad you’re here. Hope you stay for the full ride. š
